User Reviews

Haunted Merge offers an engaging, story-driven experience with strong visuals and an ad-free feel. Players praise the atmosphere, pacing, and frequent events. However, a recurring issue is energy: it’s hard to obtain, drains quickly, and progress can be slowed by energy constraints and gating, which can hinder long-term play unless you’re willing to wait or pay.
Pros
  • Engaging, twist-filled story line that keeps players hooked.
  • High-quality graphics and art, with good translation support and solid voice acting.
  • Ad-free gameplay (or minimal intrusive ads) and reasonably priced in-app purchases.
  • Relaxing, enjoyable pacing and atmosphere that fits a horror-merge vibe.
  • Frequent events/content that provide variety and opportunities to farm energy
Cons
  • Energy is scarce and hard to earn, with slow replenishment and a desire for more free energy options.
  • Progress can feel slowed by high energy requirements, effectively gating advancement and pacing
Recent reviews
I’ve been playing Haunted Merge since January, and while the game has a lot of potential, it increasingly feels like a cash grab. Progression has become frustrating due to the excessive amount of energy and stars required for even small actions. For example, it can take 200 stars just to inspect a box, then another 500 to find the code to open it. On top of that, earning stars burns through a huge amount of energy, so progress feels painfully slow and unrewarding. At this point, the pacing is so slow the story’s basically lost—I don’t even remember what’s going on anymore. Instead of feeling engaged, I feel stuck repeating tasks just to make minimal progress. I’ve also noticed a significant change in the mini-games. The most recent one has been especially disappointing—I’ve made very little progress over six days, whereas the same event used to take just a few hours to reach the same point. This shift makes the game feel less balanced and more geared toward pushing players to spend money. Overall, Haunted Merge still has strong potential, but the current progression system and recent changes are holding it back. I hope the developers reconsider the balance so the game can be enjoyable again without requiring excessive resources or spending.

I absolutely love the story line. I love how you can complete the story quests, collect stars then spend them on the story. And I USED to love the side quests/games. But, I can no longer enjoy them anymore because there is only one or two tasks that have side rewards. And even then, you have to spend so much energy to get one task part with the 100 energy you get. I don’t have the money to spend on these games. Not everyone has the wallet to play these games the way the game developers want. Please, please, PLEASE! go back to the “cheaper” game version.
