The add I was shown had people using their cameras and had the app help them determine their true shade. They literally said “stop guessing your shade and find it with the app”. But as soon as you open the app you’re immediately asked to pick out your shade out of about 8 options. You literally advertised to people who have *trouble choosing their shade*. It asked some follow up questions so it gets more specific I guess, but it’s up to you to do a high level analysis of your own skin tone including undertone and issues. There’s a place for an app that shows you personalized makeup recommendations based on your own skin analysis and preferences I suppose. But that’s not the app that was advertised to me and not something I need. I can just google “makeup for olive skin tones” and such on my own if that’s what I’m looking for.

I love the concept of this app. The feed with many tutorials, the way you can set up your profile accurately to find products aligning with your skin, and many other great features!
