User Reviews

Lazy Lighting is an approachable, beginner-friendly projection-mapping app that many users enjoy on iPad, citing its ease of use and fun, educational value. It offers ongoing updates and a lower-cost entry than pro tools. However, reviews repeatedly flag a pricey subscription model, gated/watermarked free features, and a non-working save feature. Bugs, a confusing UI, and limited editing controls also hamper daily use, suggesting strong positives for beginners but notable drawbacks for regular, professional-grade use.
Pros
  • Easy to use and intuitive, making projection mapping approachable for beginners.
  • Fun and educational, great for home use and kids, with ongoing improvements.
  • Good entry-level solution that’s more accessible than expensive professional tools.
  • Broad compatibility with iPad and various projectors, plus helpful projector recommendations.
  • Frequent updates and feature additions keep the app improving over time.
Cons
  • Subscription price is high and many reviewers feel the cost isn’t worth it; no free trial.
  • Free features are gated behind a paywall with limited options and a watermark.
  • Save/export feature is broken or not available, hindering daily use.
  • The app is buggy and sometimes confusing to use, with interface quirks and inconsistencies.
  • Editing controls are limited (hard to move objects, center, or adjust video frames), indicating room for improvement.

The app work great until I started adding videos. Once I added videos the app started to crash and it started to make the videos disappear and photos in my project disappear. If you guys could fix this issue then I will give app a five out of five, especially since this is a subscription based app. It also causes the app to close itself. I've had this issue on my iPad and my iPhone.

Seriously, no tutorial and unintuitive design makes this app one of the laziest lighting apps I’ve ever seen. Asking for a 7.99 subscription upfront for this piece of sh software is crazy work
