Voia Tracker

VoiaTracker turns your iPhone into a wireless motion tracker and camera feed for VoiaPreviz, the iPad-based virtual production and pre-visualization app. Mount an iPhone on any camera rig and VoiaPreviz instantly gets a synchronized ARKit pose stream and live video, ready to composite against 3D environments in real time.

VoiaTracker is a companion app. It does nothing on its own: it must be paired with VoiaPreviz running on an iPad on the same Wi-Fi network.

HOW IT WORKS • Launch VoiaTracker on an iPhone connected to the same Wi-Fi as your iPad. • VoiaTracker automatically discovers VoiaPreviz over the local network. • The iPad assigns each connected phone a color and a camera letter (A, B, C…), so every operator on set knows exactly which tracker belongs to which camera. • ARKit world-tracking data streams continuously to the iPad, while the camera feed is delivered over WebRTC for low-latency previz compositing.

DESIGNED FOR VIRTUAL PRODUCTION • Real-time ARKit 6-DoF pose streaming (position, rotation, tracking state, floor anchors). • Live camera video over WebRTC, synchronized with the pose stream. • Multi-tracker support — run several iPhones at once, each identified by color and camera letter. • Full-screen color identification mode with animal icons, readable from across the stage. • Persistent tracker identity — each phone keeps its assignment across restarts. • Local network only. No cloud. No accounts. No internet required. • One-tap export of tracking logs for archival or offline review.

ON-SET WORKFLOW

1. Open VoiaPreviz on the iPad and start a session.
2. Launch VoiaTracker on each iPhone rigged to a camera.
3. Grant camera and local network permissions.
4. VoiaPreviz picks up each tracker automatically.
5. Assign cameras from the iPad — the phone shows its assigned letter and color marker instantly.

REQUIREMENTS • iPhone with ARKit world-tracking support (iPhone XS or newer recommended). • iOS 18.5 or later. • Wi-Fi connection on the same local network as an iPad running VoiaPreviz. • VoiaPreviz app installed on a compatible iPad.
