If you are sick, tired, annoyed, and angry at power hungry moderators, griefers that keep destroying your art, and know you can paint with free of mind? Well, maybe this is the app for you. Paint Pixels is quite the basic app name, but it’s an accurate representation of wplace. You get to use this app by yourself, meaning you don’t need to worry about so much. There are 2 modes, one which is worldwide, and the second is a gallery. The first one is a Wplace representation, and the second is just a blank paper. Obviously, you can paint anywhere. I didn’t plan on making a Wplace account, since… you know. The app gives you a limited pixels amount of 100 pixels that refills fully pretty fast (max 60 seconds), which wasn’t was advertised as in the Wplace (Unofficial subreddit one) post of infinity pixels. There are shapes in the app, but I had not tested them out yet. Each category starts off with 3 shapes, first three. You will need to pay for all of the shapes and features of the app, but the app is recent, so it’s just infinity pixels and all shapes for right now. I do hope future features will not require premium (I’m calling you out, c.ai) otherwise I will call this app a cash grab. Obviously, there are some flaws I have found. A new app never starts off perfect. First, in the gallery, tapping on a pixel accidentally uses up 2 pixels, and trying to brush will drain your energy into a vacuum. This can be pretty annoying for people, but by time you run low on pixels, the energy will have restored. Well, not for the brush. Likely a bug, but I hope this review is seen and the app can fix it. Second, there is no precise painting in the world map, which kind of ruins pixel art, and makes it much harder to draw. Third, also on world map, turning the map at an angle causes pixels to slant and become lines instead of perfect squares. It really isn’t an issue, but I do recommend a fixed angle, preventing the map from rotating. Lastly, the save literally doesn’t save. It just exports it to gallery, or creates a random inaccessible file. You should add actual save files, so we can start from where we left off. Some suggestions I have is adding a brush feature in the world map, or atleast when you can get precise painting. Makes it to where you don’t use up a lot of time over tapping. Another is progressive pixel storage gain. As you paint more pixels and level up, which this app does lack, it adds more pixels you can paint with. I’d recommend about 2-10 pixels added for each level, maybe. This can help encourage users to stay on the app much longer. Most importantly, some local multiplayer. Invite your own friends onto your map so they can help you, it can save so much time. This also allows some sort of socialization on such an app like this. For now, these are all of the flaws I found and suggestions I have for now. I have high hopes for this app, it’s got big potential. I’m very excited for the future. I like it since I don’t have people in my business, no dang moderators being racist or political, it’s almost paradise. Hopefully “It’s almost paradise” will turn into “It’s a perfect representation of paradise. Maybe even paradise 2.0.” If you can, add a suggestion/inbox, and probably invite me into a discord server.
