Where I am

Where I am is part of the English Language Learning for Indigenous (ELLIC) program. ELLIC is an initiative of, and funded by, the Australian Government Department of Education and managed by Education Services Australia.

Where I am is one of two play-based apps for children who are learners of Standard Australian English (SAE) as an additional language or dialect. The ELLIC apps are designed for children in preschool to Year 3. They are aligned to the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the Australian Curriculum: Foundation to Year 3.

Where I am features four interactive, play-based activities: Beach walk, Animal mayhem, Delivery bike and Follow the bird. Where I am helps children explore the language of place, country and environment through engaging experiences that spark curiosity and deepen understanding. The app supports educators to create meaningful conversations with children about where they live, what surrounds them and why it matters.
