Food Diary & Macro Tracker
Your meal photo is a starting point. Check the estimates, adjust what you ate and see how the rest of your day fits your calorie and protein goals.
A meal photo can be the start of a clearer food diary. Use AI to estimate calories, protein, carbs and fat, check the results, and see how your meals fit your daily targets. Whether you are tracking a calorie deficit, maintaining weight or watching protein intake for muscle gain, keep the details of your diet in one place.
Log the food you actually ate
Take a picture or select one from your gallery. AI estimates foods, portion weights and nutrition; the figures are approximate and editable before saving. Change the dish name or total weight, adjust individual ingredients and their weights, and correct calorie or macro values. Add a missing ingredient or remove one you left on the plate. Totals recalculate when components change.
Choose the entry method that fits the meal:
- Scan a packaged food's barcode to look up nutrition when the product is available.
- Add food manually when you already have the details.
- Save individual favorites and search them when the same food comes around again.
Know what is left in your day
Set calorie and macro targets from your profile, activity level and goal, or enter your own. Home and the diary show intake and remaining daily totals for calories, protein, carbohydrates and fat. The calorie ring makes progress easy to check between meals. Use the calendar to see consecutive days of logging and build a record you can return to.
Small routines, visible progress
Track water against a daily goal and set water or meal reminders for times that work for you. Record body weight, then look at weekly, monthly and yearly charts to see changes across your entries. A single meal gives you one data point; a consistent diary gives you more context for reviewing your habits.
Keep useful shortcuts on your Home Screen. Nutrition widgets show calorie progress, with macros in the larger view. The water widget puts hydration progress within reach, and Quick Scan opens the camera. Add water directly from the widget on iOS 17 or later; earlier versions open the water form.
Bring your health records together
With permission, Apple Health integration imports recorded calories burned, exports logged nutrition and syncs weight in both directions. Compare your recorded food intake with energy burned while keeping control over the data you connect.
More flexible logging with Premium
A Premium subscription adds AI entry by text or voice. Describe lunch when a photo is inconvenient, or save a meal made up of several foods and reuse it later. Explore available fiber, sugars, sodium, vitamins and minerals alongside detailed nutrient charts.
When enough entries are available, a weekly AI review looks at eating patterns, compares intake with your goals and offers practical suggestions based on your records. Manual food entry, water logging and weight tracking are part of the basic app; Premium adds these extra ways to log and review.
Keep and share your record
Share a diary entry as an image or text. Export and import backups of your diary, food photos, water and weight records. Choose metric or imperial units and light or dark mode to suit your routine.
Start with your next meal, check the details and build a food record that makes your daily goals easier to follow. The app provides general nutrition tracking, not medical advice.
Daily food-entry limits depend on your access and also cover manual entries and foods added from favorites. Check the current limits in the app.
