Road Signs & Driving Theory
New: a free road sign guide — 84 official signs, no daily limit, nothing to unlock. Plus one free practice test a day, for a car or motorcycle permit.
Get ready for the DMV written test — car or motorcycle — with practice questions built from your own state's official driver's manual, a full written-exam simulation, and a road sign reference you can open any time you like.
PRACTICE TESTS THAT LOOK LIKE THE REAL THING
Each practice test is 20 questions in the format of the written exam: you answer, you get a score at the end, and every question you missed goes onto your mistakes list so you can come back to it. Study for a car permit or for a motorcycle permit — the app keeps the two categories separate, with their own questions and their own results.
THE FULL 50-QUESTION EXAM SIMULATION
One long run, the length of a real written test, built mostly from real road-sign images rather than text alone — the closest thing here to sitting down at the DMV.
84 OFFICIAL ROAD SIGNS, ALWAYS OPEN
A complete illustrated sign reference: 32 regulatory, 45 warning, 4 guide and 3 construction signs, drawn from the federal MUTCD standard the states follow. Browse it by category, as often as you want, with no daily limit and nothing to unlock.
HUNDREDS OF QUESTIONS, AND YOUR STATE'S OWN MANUAL
New Jersey, New York, California, Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Ohio, Illinois, Washington and Utah have their own question sets. In every other state you study the shared set of US road rules and signs. Whichever state you pick, the app links that state's own official driver's manual — all 50 of them — and your study topics follow your state's list. The exact number of questions depends on the state you choose, so we are not printing one round number here: it is hundreds, in English and in Spanish.
MORE WAYS TO STUDY
• Explore — guided learning paths built from your state's own topic list
• Winter Rules — snow, ice and low-visibility driving, in one place
• Mistake review — work back through the questions you got wrong
• Road Sign Runner and Sign Sprint — two sign-drilling mini-games for when you do not feel like another test
• Progress tracking, so you can see which categories are still weak
• The whole app in English and in Spanish, including questions and results
WHO IT IS FOR
Teens studying for a learner's permit. Adults taking the written test for a first license. New US residents transferring a license, and drivers who have moved to another state. Riders going for a motorcycle permit. Anyone who wants their road signs back before a road test.
WHAT IS FREE AND WHAT FULL ACCESS COSTS
Free every day: one 20-question practice test (car or motorcycle, one a day in total), one Road Sign Runner run and three mistake reviews — plus the 84-sign reference and your state's manual, with no limit at all. The day's free test counts as used once you have answered about five questions, even if you leave early.
Everything else needs Full Access, an auto-renewing subscription with a free trial for new subscribers. The exact price and billing period are shown before you pay and in your App Store account; payment is charged to your Apple ID and renews unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel any time in your Apple ID settings.
