JourneyPulse is your personal trip companion for driving, cycling, and walking — with live tracking, navigation, hazard alerts, and optional vehicle diagnostics. Most importantly: your data stays yours, and the app is gentle on your battery.

YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS • No sign-up, no account, no server run by us: every trip, route, and saved place is stored locally on your iPhone only. • No ads, no third-party tracking, no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs from ad networks. • Optional sync uses only your own private iCloud account (Apple CloudKit) — off by default, and you can turn it off again anytime. We never have access to that data. • Hazard and traffic information (speed cameras, accident hotspots, roadworks, traffic conditions) is fetched anonymously based on your current map area from open data sources (OpenStreetMap/Overpass, Mobilithek, the official German accident atlas) and a traffic service — never tied to your identity. • Every permission (location, Bluetooth, microphone, motion, Health, contacts) is opt-in, has a clear purpose, and isn't required for the core app to work.

BATTERY-FRIENDLY BY DESIGN • Adaptive GPS sampling: a multi-stage gate based on time, distance, heading change, and speed automatically lowers the sampling rate while you're stationary or driving steadily — without losing accuracy in turns or acceleration. • A built-in power guard watches your battery level and thermal state and automatically suggests an energy-saving mode when needed. • Motion sensing (CoreMotion) cuts back polling once you've been still for a while, instead of continuously running in the background. • Background work is throttled — for example, the optional automatic OBD adapter connection only kicks in while your phone is charging.

LIVE TRACKING & NAVIGATION • Live view with speed, distance, remaining time, and automatic transport-mode detection (walking, cycling, driving). • Turn-by-turn navigation with voice guidance and voice-based destination search. • Dynamic Island / Live Activity shows your trip status without keeping the app open.

CARPLAY • A dedicated CarPlay map view with speed-based zoom, a navigation strip, and a status bar for hazard alerts. • An additional dashboard scene for a quick glance.

HAZARDS & POI RADAR • Community and official data sources for speed cameras, accident hotspots, and roadworks, shown on the map and announced by voice. • POI radar surfaces nearby places, such as saved addresses or points of interest.

TRIPS & INSIGHTS • Automatic trip recording with map, distance, and time statistics. • Clear per-trip summaries, saved places, and route history. • Optional work-time log for business drives.

OBD VEHICLE DIAGNOSTICS (OPTIONAL) • Connects to common OBD2 Bluetooth adapters. • Live data such as RPM, speed, temperatures, and engine load. • Fault code reading with plain-language descriptions instead of cryptic codes, including freeze frame and VIN.

NO SUBSCRIPTIONS, NOTHING MANDATORY JourneyPulse works fully without a subscription. An optional tip jar supports ongoing development — entirely voluntary.
