WHY IT EXISTS Every club has one person running the session: names on a whiteboard, a mental note of who has played with whom, and the blame when somebody sits out twice in a row. Pickleball Mixer picks each round from what has actually happened, not from a fixed chart.

SET IT UP ONCE If you run the same evening every week, save it - the courts, the rules, the format and the round timer - under a name, and start from it next week in one tap. The app now opens on what you do next: a session to resume, the setups you saved, your groups and the evenings you have played.

THE SAME PEOPLE, EVERY WEEK Keep your regulars as a group and never type that roster again. Pick the group, tick off who turned up, and start. Checking in never edits the group - missing a week is not leaving. Guests are for one night only, every member keeps a lifetime record, and a group can be sent to another organizer, records intact.

KEEP TWO PLAYERS APART Some people should not be put together. Say that two players are never partners, or never share a court at all. The rule lives on the group, so you set it once and every session that group plays honours it - and one evening can add a rule for the night, or lift one, without changing the group. A court is left empty before a rule is broken, and you are told before you start if one cannot be met.

SCORES ONLY IF YOU WANT THEM Recording a result is one tap: team 1, a tie, or team 2. For most sessions that is everything - no scores to type, nothing to add up. Turn score tracking on and each court offers a compact score sheet instead, with one-tap shortcuts for games to 11, 15 or 21. Scores give every player points for, points against and a differential, and turn the statistics screen into a ranked standings table.

EVERY COURT ITS OWN RULES Each court carries its own format - open, mixed, women's or men's - and its own standard of play, which says what it means: Beginner, or Intermediate and up. Run a women's court, a beginners' court and two open courts side by side, and the matchmaker fills each one legally or leaves it empty rather than break the rule.

PICK A FORMAT Rounds, built one at a time as you go - or the whole schedule generated up front and handed out. Continuous play, where each court refills the moment it frees up. More formats are on the way. Either way every match takes a result and the ranking comes out the same.

COURTSIDE, NOT IN YOUR HAND Zoom any court to full screen. The round timer goes full screen too, big enough to read from the far baseline, and it calls the one-minute warning and time's up out loud - so you can run the session without watching your phone. The countdown stays live on your lock screen.

WHEN THINGS CHANGE People arrive late, leave early and swap courts. Anything you can set before a session you can change during it, on the same screen, and every edit is held until you apply it. Close the app or restart the phone and the session resumes where it was.

IT ENDS WITH A RESULT Stop whenever you like and the evening finishes with standings and a winner - after four rounds of seven as much as after all seven. Every session is kept, and the history can be tidied up.
