User Reviews
I’ve genuinely enjoyed using this app, and it’s become a funny and memorable way to keep track of all the hot dogs I’ve tried. The app is easy to use, but sometimes it feels a little too simple compared to other hobby tracking apps.
One of the biggest issues is that entries can’t be edited after they’re submitted. I’ve logged Chicago Dogs under “Hot Dog Type” because that’s what they’re called on a menu, only to later realize I should have entered the toppings separately. Since I can’t edit the entry, I end up creating duplicate records just to correct it.
More importantly, I think the app would benefit from becoming more of a hobby and discovery app rather than just a tracker. Apps like Apple Fitness and Merlin Bird ID are fun because they make you want to keep using them. They provide goals, collections, challenges, and things to discover.
Some ideas:
• Allow users to edit entries after they’ve been submitted.
• Add preset hot dog styles (Chicago Dog, Chili Cheese Dog, Coney Dog, Corn Dog, Bratwurst, etc.) with a dropdown menu.
• Automatically fill in common toppings when a style is selected.
• A “Hot Dog Life List” that tracks every style you’ve tried and shows which ones you’re still looking for
• Regional hot dog collections (Chicago Dog, Detroit Coney, Sonoran Dog, Seattle Dog, Texas Tommy, New Jersey Italian Hot Dog, etc.) with progress toward completing the collection
• Include a discovery feature like Merlin ID Bird App like “Nearby Dogs to Try” feature that recommends local restaurants or styles you haven’t logged yet
• A guide explaining the history, ingredients, and origin of different hot dog styles and regionalities
• Achievement badges for trying unique styles rather than simply eating larger quantities
• Interactive maps showing where you’ve eaten hot dogs and highlighting new places to visit
• Photo galleries that let users compare their own hot dog photos to examples of authentic regional styles
• Seasonal or monthly challenges focused on exploration and discovery
• Better statistics such as favorite style, favorite restaurant, most visited restaurant, favorite topping, and longest streak
• The ability to rate hot dogs and keep personal rankings
Right now the app answers the question, “How many hot dogs have I eaten?” I think it could become much more engaging if it also answered, “What hot dogs have I discovered, where have I found them, and what should I try next?”
I really like the app and plan to keep using it. I just think it has the potential to be much more interactive, rewarding, educational, and fun for people who genuinely enjoy trying different hot dog styles.

Like it a lot to have fun with friends but wish you could share and compete on the app with them
