Dead Drops Every Tuesday Previously unreleased recordings added, every Tuesday, curated by Grateful Dead archivist and legacy manager David Lemieux, mastered for the first time by David Glasser.

User Reviews

Users praise the app’s high-quality, remastered audio and sleek cassette UI, plus access to exclusive content and useful extras. However, they repeatedly call out a high subscription price, streaming-only content with no offline option, weak CarPlay support, and requests for missing features (ratings/mark-as-played) and UI improvements like larger artwork.
Pros
  • Superior audio quality with remastered soundboards that outperform other sources.
  • Polished cassette-tape UI and an overall great interface.
  • Access to remastered/box-set releases and content not easily available elsewhere.
  • Extra features beyond streaming (reviews, playlists, recording history).
  • Strong search/navigation across the catalog.
Cons
  • High price with a paid subscription model and little to no free access.
  • Content is streaming-only and can disappear; offline listening is not available.
  • Limited CarPlay support and readability issues in car interfaces.
  • Missing features requests seen across multiple reviews (rating/marking shows as played; shelves in the cassette UI).
  • Artwork/display could be improved (desire for larger artwork).
Recent reviews
I wish there was everything available on Nugs or Spotify or Apple Music on here, even if not in hifi. I wish I could rate each show and mark as played. I wish the cassette UI included shelves for collections like road trips, Dave’s picks, Dick’s picks, etc…. BUT this app is getting better every week, and I truly feel like it’ll be my only music service once it’s reached its full catalog potential, and it’s my favorite interface of any app, music or otherwise.

Wish the artwork was bigger…especially if the “tape” covers could just be cd artwork. That would be awesome. So we could actually see the artwork.

No subscription = no music. Nothing is free at all. Only thing it’s semi useful for is to look up a date, a song , a show, which is already available for free in many other places. Certain people probably rolling over in their eternal slumber that their free music is not so free. 99$ a year 10$ a month. Whatever. Won’t shed a tear if it loses money
