The reviews are largely negative about the PureGym US iPhone app. The most recurring issues are unreliable QR entry and scanning problems, slow performance and hard-to-navigate UI, no in-app subscription management (including cancellation), a perceived loss of functionality after the merger, and privacy/security concerns around the scanner and login behavior. Occasional positives note that QR entry can work at times, but overall user experience is viewed as inconsistent and frustrating.

QR code entry works at least in some locations, enabling gym access via the app.

Cons

Unreliable QR scanning leads to entry delays or denial.
Slow app performance and confusing navigation, with long launch times and slow loading of the scan function.
No in-app option to cancel subscriptions; in-app subscription management is missing.
Post-merger downgrade: loss of functionality and features, including removal of occupancy/history data and vague updates.
Privacy/security concerns: the camera can stay on during scanning and the login page can be accessed while logged in.

Revert back to the original app. This one is missing 80% of the features and is terrible to navigate. You can’t even see how busy the gym is anymore. Fire whoever signed off on this garbage

Ever since they changed to puregym from blink the app has been a disaster. It needs extensive amount of work done, i’m not sure as to how it even has 4 stars. The app needs a better design, better controls, more accurate display of information (payment history, balance due, etc), amongst other things. Please fix the app as soon as possible!

The one thing that was nice about Blink is being able to use Apple Watch to scan in. I didn’t even have to bring my phone with me. This has been a step back with PureGym and it would be great if you guys could find a way to bring that functionality back.
