PowerFinderGlobal is available in a free version and users can get additional functionality with an In-App-Purchase. The free version gives users an interactive map with icons for all of the Public Utility Electric Power Plants in the world. Users can click on the icons to see a detailed view of the plants in a satellite image with a data window about the plant by plant dateCO2, SO2, and NOX emissions, energy output per year, the amount of Bitcoins that could be mined with all of the energy output, the amount of Rain Forest it would take to absorb the CO2, and plant ownership. The data window also lets the users see information about ISO and Balancing Authority Fuel Mix, Total; Load and Generated Data.

If the user of the free version clicks on the menu button they will get a page to sign up for the In App Purchase. When purchased this will enable the 5 additional menu buttons as can be seen in the application screenshots for both iPhone and iPad. These buttons turn on menus for filtering by plant status, energy type, power rating, CO2 emissions, ISO and Balancing Authority Fuel Mix, Total Load, and Generation data search, and map type. Although the free version makes a lot information available to the user, the paid version allows for a much more rapid and powerful analysis of the world's power plants to occur.
