Users largely praise Lyra as a free, feature-rich music app with an ad-light experience and easy song import. However, repeated issues across many reviews include login/session errors, frequent logouts, playback crashes, and songs failing to play or appearing with the wrong audio. Search results and playlists frequently miss items, and CarPlay support is unstable. My main issue is that there was little to no notice about the ads being added beforehand, therefor the change was unexpected and irritating as it brings the question of 'what else will be changed without notice' as I checked the update log when I first encountered an ad, assuming it was a bug, and did not see the ads mentioned in the update section. The ads placement is inconvenient, the ads banners on the screen are not a problem, but an ad appearing every time I open the app is a hindrance and makes me reluctant to listen to the music because I do not want an ad in my face every time I reopen the app whether it is to add a song to a new playlist or fast forward it. An ad every now and then is fine, but an ad for almost every button pressed or every time the app is opened will make people choose other music apps that don't have ads like that. The ads being short is good and nice, but it is still an issue that the ads appear right when the app is opened. I would rather be able to listen to my music first and then have an ad after the first song in place of one right when the app opens.

I had been using the app for months and now I’m suddenly hit with ads at every click. Very disappointing… If you’re looking for something ad free, this ain’t it no more.
