Features & Capabilities

Mindcop is a story-driven detective game where time is your enemy. You have five days to crack the case, and every action costs time. Move fast, or the culprit walks free. The gripping narrative unfolds through rich characters, hidden motives, and dramatic twists, with a Mindsurf mechanic that lets you glimpse suspects' thoughts and emotions.

Features include true detective gameplay: investigate crime scenes, interrogate suspects, and enter minds with Mindsurf. Enjoy a stylish noir presentation—hand-drawn art, expressive animations, and a tense soundtrack that pulls you into the mood. Decide whether to rely on logic, intuition, or manipulation to uncover the truth. Mindcop is the solo project of Andre Gareis.

User Reviews

Mindcop delivers a stylish, story-driven detective experience with a unique mind-surfer mechanic, strong visuals, and memorable music, offering solid replay value through branching investigations. However, reviews repeatedly cite technical issues (crashes, freezes, black screens, load failures) and progression loss, plus monetization concerns and a perceived paywall. Despite bugs, players praise the art, atmosphere, and engaging premise, hoping for bug fixes and new content to unlock the game’s full potential.
Pros
  • Story-driven detective narrative that keeps you guessing
  • Innovative mind-surfer mechanic and interactive investigations
  • Beautiful art style and polished 2D visuals with strong atmosphere
  • Memorable music that lingers after playing
  • High replay value with branching investigations and multiple outcomes
Cons
  • Frequent crashes, freezes, black screens, and load failures disrupting play
  • Starting problems and progress loss due to bugs; some players cannot complete sessions
  • Monetization and pricing concerns, including misleading 'free' tag and a $5.99–$6.00 price point
  • Repetition or limited variety on subsequent playthroughs and fewer content options
  • Platform/compatibility issues and inconsistent performance on non-iPad devices

Everything costing time makes me never want to play. It made sense at first, but in practice it just always feel like I’m missing something important with every choice and don’t want to do anything. Without that, everything is fun, stylish, unique.

The game repeatedly crashes at the same point, while I’m trying to accuse the culprit. The game is rife with crashes, but this is the only one I can’t seem to get past. It crashes at the same moment, nearly on the exact same word of dialogue, every time. I also can’t find a way to report a bug in the app, meaning the only way to call attention to the bug is by writing a negative review. It’s a shame, because otherwise, the game would be five stars.
