User Reviews
Pros
- Strong integration with AutoSleep, enabling cohesive sleep insights.
- Detailed, taggable snoring data to analyze how lifestyle factors affect snoring.
- No subscription model, offering a one-time upfront cost without ongoing fees.
- Noise filters and audio context awareness (can be configured regarding music/podcasts) to manage recordings.
Cons
- Reliability issues: crashes, nights with no recordings, and inconsistent start/stop behavior.
- High false positives from ambient noises (TV, podcasts, music) being recorded as snoring.
- Lack of automation: manual start/stop, no shortcuts/Focus integration, and no Apple Watch activation.
- UI and playback issues: no stop button, overlapping audio when navigating recordings, and occasional need to reinstall to stop.

It would be awesome if AutoSleep could detect when you fall asleep and automatically start AutoSnore instead of having to click a button

I paid $5 for this, and it is genuinely unusable. It detected one “snore,” which was very clearly me speaking to my wife, while confidently labeling ordinary bedroom sounds as things like gunfire, subway trains, synthesizers, thunder, timpani, trucks, waterfalls, bee buzzing, and bowling impacts. A toilet lid dropping was classified as “music,” and it reported 32 mysterious “gasps” even though the clips contained no audible sound at all. Why would you even allow it to tag things “gunfire?” Did the developers forget to cut their AudioSet tags down before production?
The playback interface is somehow worse: once a 30-second clip starts, there is no apparent way to stop it. Tapping the volume icon restarts the clip instead of silencing it, while the previous clip keeps playing underneath it. The audio continues even after leaving the screen or opening another app. None of the classifications I checked were accurate, the snore detection was wrong, and basic playback is broken. This feels less like a finished snore-tracking app and more like a malfunctioning machine-learning demo that charges admission.
