User Reviews

Top recurring themes: strong organization and annotation features; identification works well for many items but is unreliable for others; pricing and subscription models are a major barrier; onboarding friction and occasional glitches hinder usability. Overall, useful for museum-goers and photo organization, but adoption is limited by data quality, paywalls, and usability hurdles.
Pros
  • Well-organized cataloging with per-photo annotations
  • Accurate and useful identification for many artworks (including some obscure pieces)
  • Convenient for museum visits and when photographing art (museum mode)
  • Ability to discover artwork names and details from labels or locations
Cons
  • Subscription-based pricing and paywalls (limited or no free functionality, unexpected charges)
  • Inaccurate or unreliable identifications with frequent mislabeling and data inconsistencies
  • Onboarding friction and heavy upfront questions that hinder initial use
  • Upload issues and other technical glitches (slow performance, location inaccuracies, manual editing requirements)

To put it short, this app is an amazing idea and concept ruined by greed the obsession with AI. All the features that make this idea of having a collection of all the artworks you see great, is locked by a paywall. To upload photos for example, you need to subscribe. You’re literally better off making a spreadsheet of all your photographed artworks than using this app. Not to mention, the AI marketing this app has? I honestly thought this was just an artwork collection app, but they market this as an AI app as well? Like, really? You cater your audience for artists and yet you market this app as THE VERY controversial thing that many artists have negative feelings about??? Obviously, the core feature of this app is that it will detect what artwork it’s looking at is powered by ai. That’s fine imo, I think it’s cool even that it can do that. But it seems like other features are AI and even some AI generation? For example, I’m pretty sure all the summaries it gives you when you’ve viewed an artwork is generated by AI. Like, why? This is so unnecessary. Why not cite articles, the museum website, books even? That would be such a good learning tool and it would make this app such a more interesting and an academic like app. And of course, their subscriptions also give you AI features. The app can scan your entire photo collection on your phone for artworks is one. (Totally not sketchy lol) Their FORTY DOLLAR yearly subscription in particular is the one I unknowingly subscribed to after I completed their week trial. Absolutely manipulative. I’m willing to bet most of their subscription sales aren’t even from people genuinely interested in their app, most of it is probably from them charging people who didn’t even realize they were put into a subscription. I wanna love this app, but yeah, they ruined such a great idea.
