Smpl for Safari

Disable AI & Streamline Search

Overview

Features & Capabilities

Smpl is a lightweight Safari extension that opens Google searches in the classic Web results layout, keeping AI Overviews and search clutter out of the way. No more confusing AI summaries or distracting suggestions.

Key features:

  • Disable Google’s AI Overview and extra suggestions. Tap the "All" tab to view other Knowledge Panels when needed.
  • Automatically open search results in a new tab.
  • Hide trending searches from Google's homepage.
  • Automatically open Reddit links in Narwhal.
  • Hide the Reddit login prompt on the mobile website.
  • Redirect X/Twitter links to XCancel.

How it works:

  • Install the app and enable the Safari extension.
  • Open the extension popup and toggle the features you want to use.
  • Conduct Google searches as usual.
  • Smpl adds a URL parameter (udm=14) to send searches directly to the Web tab, bypassing the AI Overview.
  • Tap “All” anytime to view Knowledge Panels (weather, quick facts, etc.).

Smpl is built and maintained by a solo indie developer, ensuring it stays lightweight, reliable, and up-to-date. If you love Smpl, please consider leaving a rating or review. For questions or feedback, tap the Contact link within the Smpl app.
