User Reviews

Overall, users like the conversation-first design that helps speaking and vocabulary, with some reporting real progress. But several common issues recur: inaccurate pronunciation across Tagalog, aggressive monetization with trials and paywalls, frequent UX bugs and onboarding blockers, and an AI pace that skips explanations or translations. The app has promise but needs fixes in pronunciation accuracy, pricing clarity, stability, and teaching transparency.
Pros
  • Focus on conversation and real-life speaking practice, which makes the app feel like chatting with a friend.
  • Helps users speak more confidently and learn faster through real-life scenarios.
  • Regular users report maintaining and sharpening vocabulary and language skills.
  • Appears unique in its conversation-centric approach to language learning.
Cons
  • Pronunciation accuracy is frequently incorrect or inconsistent across Tagalog, eroding trust.
  • Monetization and pricing are a frequent complaint: mandatory trials, auto-renewals, high monthly cost, and paywalls.
  • Frequent UX/technical issues: onboarding loops, screens you can't exit, incomplete text loading, and daily 3-minute/180-second limits.
  • The AI delivers content too quickly and lacks in-depth word meaning, with limited or delayed English translations.

It literally pronounced the word Tagalog wrong… ain’t no way am I trusting this app with the rest of the language

The ai is too fast (not the good fast). It gives you phrases to say but doesn’t break down what words mean unless you ask, of which when you do ask what they mean, it interrupts the “lesson.” Sometimes I’d accidentally click on the button and it’d say “good! Now try this phrase!” and move on. Slow it down and give time to break down words.

App does not allow you to even create an account without signing up for a 3 day trial and agreeing to an automatic renewal (which of course you could cancel, but the 3 day window is short). I’ll have to find a different way to learn I suppose.
