Initially, I was excited to start using the save a bite app. My first experience was with a deli in Waikiki. My order was placed early in the morning and included a tip as well. When I arrived and showed my receipt for pickup, the employee appeared to not know about save a bite. She said “What is it you want? Do you want to order something?” It got really awkward and weird fast. Like I was panhandling or something. I ended up saying that it isn’t a big thing and that I’d stop by tomorrow. Oddly, the employee said that they’d have something then. So, my experience with this app was abysmal. Delete. I’m out eleven bucks and could use a drink.

I’ve had this app downloaded for a couple of months now, and have purchased a few boxes. I love the idea of reducing food waste and saving money at the same time! My experience with pickup, food quality and quantity has been excellent. I am also impressed with the variety of business that are participating. I do, however feel that some additional features could make the user experience even better: -Information on each business’ page showing when and how many boxes sold in a given day (so people who have been unable to get bags from certain restaurants can better plan to reserve boxes in the future) -Notifications of when boxes become available (which will make it easier for customers to know boxes are available for sale and to give businesses a better chance of selling all their boxes)
