Messy Monsters is a kids routine app for ages 4-12 that helps you create simple, sustainable habits together. With checklists for kids, tasks, and reward systems, it's easy to get started - and easy to stick with.

You decide tasks together, talk through what's not working, and build new routines step by step. When your child completes tasks, they earn rewards that motivate them. As routines stick, you can switch to new tasks. We built the app to be simple to use in everyday life - even during busy weeks. Because what's fun and easy is what actually becomes a habit. We're parents ourselves, with kids aged 0-12, and one of us is a special education teacher. Many of our users face similar challenges: getting out the door on time, reducing screen time, and making bedtime work. You're not alone - and you can always reach out if you want support.

HOW IT WORKS • You decide together what needs to be done • Choose ready-made suggestions or create your own tasks • Your child checks off tasks every day • Your child follows a "Golden Journey" towards a treasure chest (usually about 1 week) • Along the way, rewards make it more fun and celebrate your child's effort • When a treasure chest is reached, your child earns money (the amount you decide as a parent) in their piggy bank and unlocks new avatars • Once a task becomes a routine your child does on their own, phase it out and switch to a new one (usually after 3-4 Golden Journeys, depending on the task) • Your child can customize their avatar and background • Add automatic weekly or monthly allowance that your child will get independently of completed tasks. That allowance is also saved in the piggy bank.
