User Reviews

Gleam garners mixed reviews. Many users praise the app’s initial appeal and engaging content with potential personal growth, but repeatedly fault the pricing and subscription model, which often blocks feature exploration. Technical problems and occasional instability are common, with several complaints about poor or delayed support and refund handling. Overall sentiment skews negative due to pricing friction and bugs, though a subset of users finds value in the content and its potential for improving social confidence.
Pros
  • Positive initial impression and continued interest in the app’s content.
  • Engaging lessons and chapters with potential for personal growth.
  • Some users report personal benefits, such as reduced social anxiety or improved social interaction.
Cons
  • Pricing model and high annual cost with recurring charges and frequent push to subscribe before trying features.
  • Sign-up flow pressures users to subscribe before they can explore functionality.
  • Bugs and reliability issues hinder usage (buttons stopping work, mic issues, occasional instability).
  • Customer support and refund issues (delayed responses, refunds denied or unclear processes).

If you are on MacBook, do not get unless if you want to buy a membership. I want to go to my next lesson but I’m stuck in the free trial pop up ad that has one “x” button that doesn’t do anything.

They use AI art for every single tidbit they give you and I’m pretty sure they used AI for the rest of the app too, I tried a lesson and it directly ripped off The Charisma Myth AND didn’t cite it so that non-readers wouldn’t realize. Everything in this app is free knowledge, go follow a tiktok account about charisma that animates tidbits from these books instead. From the get-go they pull every trick to make the app appear magical and like it’s doing more than it actually is. The entire thing is disrespectful of your intelligence and your time. Stop playing with the “personalizing a plan for you” and making the user wait for funsies, it’s cheesy asf. It’s clearly one course for everyone, you just forced us to fill out a survey to understand your user base 😭
