User Reviews

ThingsBook is praised for being easy to use and strong at organizing content with collections, plus social/community and customization features. However, multiple reviews highlight persistent issues: poor collection organization due to no sorting/few filters, a clunky navigation experience, and weak discoverability of other users. Overall, it’s a promising, social reading hub that works well in its concept and UX when these sorting, navigation, and discovery gaps are addressed.
Pros
  • Easy to use with a clean, user-friendly design.
  • Strong organization/ cataloging via collections that keep content in one place.
  • Engaging social/community features that allow connecting with others who share interests.
  • Customization options like profile aesthetics and themes.
Cons
  • Poor organization of collections due to lack of sorting (no alphabetical sort, no dedicated Books tab) and overall Content management issues.
  • Navigation/UI can feel clunky or limited (few buttons, layout and smoothness could improve).
  • Discoverability of other users/content is weak (hard to find people; limited browsing beyond who you follow).

Great app with a really cool way to showcase your media collection. I do however wish it would alphabetize my media or give me someway to do it myself. Seems weird to create an app for people to share collections and categorize their media but not have a way to alphabetize it. Maybe one day

Thingsbook is easily one of the best-looking collection-tracking apps out there, and the overall UI/UX shows massive promise. However, as a collector using it to log physical media (specifically CDs), the app currently falls short on core organizational functionality. The biggest drawback right now is the complete lack of basic sorting and filtering options within collections. You cannot sort items by date added, title, or artist. For anyone with a sizable collection, this makes navigation unnecessarily frustrating and renders the app almost unusable for serious cataloging. Additionally, adding sub-grouping capabilities within collections would be a game-changer—for instance, allowing users to group albums by artist/band so an entire discography stays neatly united. If the developers can implement proper sorting, filtering, and nested grouping features, this could easily be a 5-star, go-to app for collectors. Hoping to see these core updates soon!
