User Reviews

Cantina Archive is praised as a solid tool for logging Star Wars books and navigating canon/Legends timelines, with a clean interface and ongoing updates. However, reviewers repeatedly note a patchy catalog (missing titles, comics, and junior novels), cumbersome navigation, and uneven media/metadata quality. Collection workflow quirks and limited search features also recur. Despite these gaps, the app shows strong potential and developers appear responsive, suggesting substantial improvements as more titles are added.
Pros
  • Easy to log and manage your Star Wars books across formats (owned, read, want) with progress tracking.
  • Strong timeline features, including canon vs Legends and a master timeline with your books highlighted.
  • Helpful discovery tools like finding your next read and staying on top of upcoming releases; good initial value with ongoing updates.
  • Clean, simple, user-friendly design that makes logging and browsing feel approachable.
  • Active development and responsive updates that add missing titles and improve coverage for collectors.
Cons
  • Catalog is incomplete; many titles are missing (including Tales from..., comics, and junior novels) and coverage across canon/Legends is inconsistent.
  • Navigation and search can be cumbersome and not intuitive; hard to browse the full catalog and results can feel mixed by era.
  • Content gaps and media coverage are limited (comics, junior novels, audiobooks often absent) with inconsistent cover art and metadata.
  • Collection/reading-status workflow is awkward (cannot mark current reading unless item is owned; possible ejection if toggling settings) and borrowing scenarios aren’t well supported.
  • Data quality issues and metadata inconsistencies (e.g., incorrect or low-quality cover art) and occasionally unreliable help/support details.

Last year I started reading Star Wars books. As a life long fan, I wish I had done it sooner! This app is a great companion to keep track of books I own, in the format I own it, books I want, and a way to see which books fall into which part of timeline. The addition of comics has been great to see as well! They pay attention to detail and each update proves that they want to give a great product to its user. Cannot recommend this enough. 🙏
