Open a GPX file. See the whole ride: the climb in colour, heart rate and power charted, moving time, pace and splits. Free, no account, nothing leaves your device.

Open a GPX file. See the whole ride.

Every watch, bike computer and fitness service can hand you a GPX file. Most apps show you a line on a map. GPX Explore shows you the ride: where it climbed and how hard, what your heart rate and power were doing on that climb, how long you were actually moving, and how each kilometre went.

COLOUR TELLS YOU THE CLIMB The track is painted by grade: blue where it is flat, green as it rises, orange and red on the steep pitches. Read a route before you ride it, or see where the hard part of the day was without touching the chart. A second mode colours by elevation, and both work on standard, satellite and hybrid maps.

EVERY NUMBER YOUR WATCH RECORDED Heart rate, cadence, power, speed and temperature from Garmin, Strava, Wahoo, Coros, Suunto and Apple Watch files, charted under the map with a picker to switch series. Scrub the chart and the marker follows on the map. The route card sums up the workout: distance, moving time with the stops taken out, average pace or speed, max speed, elevation gain and loss with GPS noise filtered, sensor averages, and splits per kilometre or mile.

FILES FROM ANYWHERE The complete GPX 1.1 schema and the GPX 1.0 files older tools write: tracks, routes and waypoints with their names, symbols and comments, metadata, and every exporter's extensions. Files that confuse other viewers open here: fractional-second timestamps, tracks with no elevation or no times, routes with no track, waypoint-only files.

MADE FOR THE MAC Double-click a .gpx file and it opens. Quick Look in Finder draws the track coloured by grade. A drawer lists every track, segment and waypoint so you can hide what you are not looking at. Keyboard shortcuts for fit (⌘0), the chart (⌘E), the route card (⌘I), map styles (⌘1–3) and settings (⌘,). Share the GPX, or export the map with the chart under it as one picture.

ON IPHONE AND IPAD Open a GPX from Mail, Messages, Files or any app that shares one. It lands on the map with a strip of numbers on top; tap for the full card and the splits. The chart scrubs with a finger.

YOURS STAYS YOURS GPX Explore is a viewer. No account, no sync, no server, no edits to your files. The file you open is read on your device and nowhere else. Free on every platform, with no in-app purchases. In English, German, French, Spanish and Japanese.
