User Reviews

Users praise HobbyScan for fast, accurate card identification and valuable market data, ease of use, and quick results. However, several reviews note accuracy problems with certain cards (foils/parallels), stability issues, and slow support responses. An update reportedly limits rapid-scan throughput to three cards, reducing convenience. Overall, it’s a powerful collectors’ tool when reliable, but reliability and support improvements are needed.
Pros
  • Extremely fast scans with the rapid scan feature, delivering quick results.
  • High accuracy and reliable identification with current market values for many cards.
  • Easy to use with a clean design and smooth UX.
  • Valuable market data, price tracking, and historical trends for your collection.
  • Convenient for sorting, tracking, and learning the value of cards.
Cons
  • Inaccurate card identifications and misidentifications, including trouble with foil cards and parallels.
  • Crashes and stability issues, plus occasional problems identifying new cards.
  • Support responsiveness issues and slow or absent replies.
  • Rapid scan throughput regression after updates, limiting to three cards at a time.

Even with scan accuracy cranked up, it still fails to get the right foil, even in even lighting. Additionally completely misidentified multiple cards. If you’re just using the free trial to quickly check this is an ok app, but I cannot see paying for something this inaccurate.

Had technical issues with the app and reached out to the Help/Support team multiple times. No one replied to any of the messages. Eventually reached out to one of their partners and the partner attempted to connect me with them. Finally got an e-mail and I replied to that. They never replied to that e-mail either.
