User Reviews
Pros
- Real-time translations and quick word definitions with pronunciation to help learning on the fly.
- Content is matched to your reading level via a proficiency quiz, keeping stories at the right difficulty.
- Reading with audio and live highlighting, plus the ability to listen while you read, boosts listening comprehension.
- Free daily stories and a large library provide steady, varied practice.
- Easy setup, clean interface, and overall motivation to practice Spanish regularly.
Cons
- Billing, login, and refunds: users report looping sign-in prompts, being charged again after purchase, and difficulty obtaining refunds.
- Limited in-app translation: app mainly translates single words; no phrase/sentence translation; no bookmarking or copy/paste.
- Translation quality can be inaccurate for idioms or context.
- Content quality and tone vary: some stories feel antiquated or too dark/sad or not aligned with user interests.
- Occasional audio issues: sound problems and mispronunciations by AI/TTS occur in some stories.
Recent reviews
I love this app for learning, the stories are great, the options are plentiful, and it has helped my reading comprehension immensely. The only feature I’d wish they’d add is when you click on a verb to translate it, I’d like it if there was the un conjugated form too. That way you could learn new base verbs as well as their forms. Just an idea, hope y’all like it.

First off - no free trial offered, so you jst have to jump in and pay for the trial period.
Then, although the concept sounds appealing, my foreign language level is elementary .. so you’d think I’d start out reading elementary-level books?
No - I started out on Sherlock Holmes.
I don’t think this app will really help my foreign language comprehension.
