User Reviews

I'm a full time domestic violence advocate looking for more tools and resources to implement with my clients so I tried this app. I was immediately prompted to take a selfie, no clear reason. This can make survivors feel uncomfortable as they not only may not want their photo taken but they also don't know how it's being used or stored. We've seen the Tea app leak, this is another disaster waiting to happen. Unlike the Tea app, there wasn't a vetting process where the selfie was verified before gaining access to the app, making it seem even more pointless. When I finally accessed the app, I found it incredibly hard to read as it's a dark grey text on a slightly lighter grey body. The first daily reminder at the top of my screen was too long to be fully displayed and I couldn't click on it to see the rest of the message. I found it odd that most of the support resources were just subreddits, especially considering that Reddit is not the safest space to disclose DV - not only is it a public forum but is used to facilitate human trafficking (sounds crazy but I worked with a client whose abuser sold her on Reddit). I also don't understand this app's forum functionality. Any type of chat or forum not only has different users and their profiles, but there are reporting tools in case they say something inappropriate or dangerous, whereas neither are present here, raising question if these posts and comments are real people. I also felt that the first physiological signs of abuse were barely scratching the surface and also is not necessarily the first thing a survivor needs to know. Overall I felt the app had good intention and some helpful info but feels like the developer whipped this together on an all-nighter.
