PencilTime is a handwritten digital planner for people who want a calendar, notebook, reminders, and visual planning space in one app.

Write naturally with Apple Pencil, type where clarity matters, plan across Day, Week, Month, and Year views, and create dedicated Note Pages. PencilTime combines the freedom of paper with digital tools such as links, file attachments, editable shapes, reminders, bookmarks, filters, exports, and optional iCloud sync.

KEEP LINKS AND FILES ON THE PAGE

Place useful resources beside the plans, projects, and notes that need them:

• Add website, email, phone, and message links
• Attach files and open them with the system Quick Look preview
• Display links as compact Chips or detailed Cards
• Use Page Links to jump between planner pages and Note Pages File Links import a copy of the selected file. They do not modify or remain connected to the original.

MARK UP WITH EDITABLE SHAPES

Highlight, organize, and connect information without permanently drawing over the page:

• Draw lines and single- or double-ended arrows
• Add rectangles, rounded rectangles, and ellipses
• Choose from the same six color palettes as the pen tools
• Fine-tune stroke width
• Add optional fills with independent stroke and fill opacity
• Move, resize, rotate, duplicate, lock, restyle, or delete shapes at any time Shapes remain editable and are included in PDF and PNG exports.

VIEW THE PAGE YOUR WAY IN LANDSCAPE

Choose the page view that works best with Apple Pencil or a keyboard:

• Fit Page centers the entire portrait page on screen
• Fit Width provides a larger writing area with vertical scrolling
• Pinch outward to zoom in for detailed work
• Tap the Page View button to reset a zoomed page quickly

PLAN BY HAND, TYPE WHAT MUST BE CLEAR

PencilTime supports typed text wherever extra readability is useful:

• Type on any bundled Note Page template
• Show or hide the paper template without deleting your text
• Use matching backgrounds in the Year, Month, and Week notes areas
• Add typed todos, priorities, and schedule notes on supported Day templates
• Switch freely between typing and Apple Pencil drawing
• Format text with color, size, bold, underline, bullets, numbering, and indentation

NOTE PAGES FOR IDEAS, PROJECTS, AND MEETINGS

• Keep meeting notes, project plans, class notes, research, goals, and other information that extends beyond a single date. • Choose from 26 bundled layouts across Paper, Study, Work, Productivity, Personal, Home & Money, and Creative categories. Change the background later without moving your existing page content. You can also filter All Notes by date and tags or organize them with Smart Folders. • The included template library provides ready-made layouts for selection. Creating, editing, importing, exporting, and organizing custom template definitions are not currently supported. Completed Note Pages can still be shared, printed, or exported with their selected backgrounds.

CONNECTED HANDWRITTEN PLANNING

• Add Reminder, Photo, Image, Label, and Emoji Stickers to your pages. Navigate quickly with Bookmarks, Recent Pages, Back, and Page Links. • Apple Calendar integration can display events inside your planner. Date labels can follow your device language or remain in English.

SYNC AND PREMIUM

• Links, File Links, and Shapes do not require Premium. • Premium unlocks iCloud sync, Apple Calendar integration, unlimited Note Pages, Smart Folders, and cross-device workflows. • PencilTime gives you the freedom of paper with the organization of a digital planner.
