User Reviews
Pros
- High-quality BSF content and study material.
- Strong group-study features (in-app discussions, sharing responses).
- Unified view for scripture, questions, and notes on a single page.
- Portable and suitable for daily, short study sessions.
- Works well for both solo and group study.
Cons
- Persistent bugs and stability issues across the app, including after redesign.
- Redesign degrades usability by removing features (e.g., gathering option, insights) and worsening navigation.
- Data loss or poor data migration when upgrading to the new app.
- Limited login options (only Google/Apple) and related privacy concerns.
- Missing key features from the old app and other UX gaps (insights, daily-time controls, multi-course support, iPad landscape).

As others have mentioned, I don’t want connect to apps using my Google or Apple passwords. Especially in today’s world of hacking and need to keep passwords secure. I have used WordGo before and was surprised to see the functionality removed. Until it is fixed unfortunately I will not be able to use the material again.

BSF runs on volunteers and this is an area where it is hurting them. I’m sure an organization of this size (who just built a new headquarters) can afford to pay real software developers. The glitches in this app are still not resolved after one year—silly ones like formatting in the text. As a BSF group leader who uses WordGo to lead studies in the summer, it does not reflect well on an organization I believe in and love so much. None of my summer study participants come to BSF and it does not make for a persuasive invitation when we spend a good portion of our time lamenting the digital challenges of this app.

I personally really enjoyed using WordGo for our ladies’ small group. We used it for two different studies. One on Ruth and another on Colossians. It was so helpful having everything organized in one place, along with the ability to share our answers and posts with the group. I especially appreciated being able to read others’ responses and gain different perspectives. Once I got used to the navigation, I found it very user-friendly and easy to use. I would definitely recommend it for group Bible studies!
