The app layout is lazy. You don’t have access to any features without paying them money they don’t need. The concept of a frog call identification app isn’t new at all, something similar to the Merlin app for birds, so this COULD be useful, it just isn’t. The frog call app we’ve been waiting for hasn’t been made yet.

I work with amphibians for a living and I can say this app is not accurate. I really wanted this to work but it still has a ways to go before being an accurate tool for frog identification

FYI — Almost zero features are available with the free version. It says there’s a free trial of premium but does not specify how long the trial lasts….yeah I got charged before even re-opening the app. The “regions” are not clearly specified beyond “western” and “eastern” (no key to show you were the line is) and you have to already have a pretty good understanding of “true frogs” vs “toads” vs “tree frogs” vs “spadefoots” to efficiently navigate this app. I’m annoyed that this charged me unexpectedly, and it’s a pretty weak app. I’d skip this one.
