User Reviews

User reviews describe the American First Finance iOS experience as frequently broken, with login problems and failed applications. Some call it more of a website than an app. There are mixed reports on customer service. A few users note that payment features work reasonably well in-app, and the branding has been updated, but reliability remains the dominant issue.
Pros
  • Easy to set up and manage payments via the app.
  • App branding and visuals have improved, receiving positive remarks.
  • There is a usable website alternative for account management when the app is unreliable.
Cons
  • The app is frequently nonfunctional or difficult to use (login issues, failed applications, approvals).
  • Several reviews say the app is not really an app and that the service is essentially a website.
  • Customer service experiences are inconsistent or reportedly poor.
  • Using the app can be frustrating due to repeated errors and long wait times in processes like applications.

Would rate 0 if I could. Every single time I spoke with someone in this app, they told me something completely different. First it was a $30 financing charge then it was $79 then it was a $4 increase each day until paid off. My fault for not looking closer at the contract, and I will touch on that, but when the vendor and multiple employees at the lender assure you of how something works and then you find out that’s not how it works at all it is frustrating. I would highly recommend considering other options. For example, I borrowed $820 for automotive work, and if I had taken 90 days to pay that I would have paid an extra $360. I took about 2-3 weeks and still paid an extra $60-$100. It is also incredibly difficult to get the hard numbers for the loan until you’ve already signed the dotted line. READ THE CONTRACT AND MAKE SURE YOU CAN HAVE ONE MADE BEFORE YOU SIGN IT. Push for that. Because in my case they would not generate any sort of contract or tell me anything until an invoice was made and most places can make an invoice before doing the work. In my case, they couldn’t, so they had to complete the work for me to be able to even look at a contract. Just don’t borrow from “American First” Finance

I can’t use your app because I never get the confirmation email to set it up!
