KindShare is a community support platform developed by the Coalition of Persons with Disabilities - Newfoundland and Labrador (COD-NL), designed to bridge the gap between those who need assistance and those who want to help.

FEATURES:

• ASSISTANCE REQUESTS Beneficiaries (disabled persons and seniors) can easily create requests for various types of assistance, including:

• Snow clearing
• Donations of food, clothing, and small electronic devices
• Yard work
• Free rides

• VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES Volunteers can browse available "good deeds" in their area and choose tasks they're willing and able to complete based on:

• Type of assistance needed
• Distance from their location
• Time commitment required
• Their own skills and abilities

• SIMPLE MATCHING SYSTEM Our intuitive system helps connect people in need with those who can help. Volunteers receive updates about nearby requests, while beneficiaries are updated when a volunteer accepts their request.

• SCHEDULING & MESSAGING Volunteers and beneficiaries can schedule tasks using a simple templated messaging system. Propose a time, accept or counter propose a different time, and let beneficiaries know when you are on the way!

• ACCESSIBLE DESIGN KindShare is built with accessibility as a priority, ensuring that people of all abilities can use the app without barriers:

• Screen reader compatibility
• Keyboard navigation support
• Simplified interface with minimal steps

KindShare was developed in collaboration with the disability community in Newfoundland and Labrador to address real needs identified by community members.
