User Reviews

Overall, users see the app as an interesting concept with some successes (notably English→Bulgarian) and broad language availability, but many reviews highlight poor translation accuracy, lag, and reliability issues. Connectivity, crashes, and activation problems are common, as are pricing concerns and inconsistent performance across languages. The consensus is that the concept has potential, but the execution is inconsistent and often not suitable for real-time conversations.
Pros
  • Innovative real-time translation concept with potential for live conversations.
  • Some users report successful results for language pairs (e.g., English → Bulgarian).
  • Supports multiple languages and shows a broad language list.
  • Can be used while the phone is locked (hands-free usage).
Cons
  • Translation quality is frequently inaccurate, nonsensical, or incomplete.
  • Significant lag and limited transcript capture—often needing the device very close to the source.
  • Reliability issues: difficult to connect, crashes, and activation/support problems.
  • Pricing concerns and complaints about paid translation or devices versus free alternatives.
  • Performance varies by language (Thai, Japanese, Chinese poorly translated in many reviews).

“The shortest distance between to people is a smile” according to Danish entertainer Victor Borge. The second shortest distance must be the BitDynamic translation earbuds and app ! Where to begin ? This is such a wonderful invention and a must for any traveler and it has numerous other uses. The earbuds come in a small carry and charging case with a short charging cable that will fit into the usual; usb/outlet plug. I was happy to see it came partially charged, so I could try it out right out of the box. The setup took a few minutes: scan and download the app, then follow instruction on your phone to connect to bluetooth and then finish the setup. I started by testing the face to face translation which is the reason I got it and what I will primarily be using it for. You pick the language you want to translate from and till and then you assign which earbud goes with what language In my case, as I am a native Danish speaker as well as fluent in English, I decided to test it in Danish and English. I set my right earbud to Danish and my left earbud to English. I used the right earbud and gave the left earbud to my partner and then I started a conversation in Danish. The conversation shows up on the phone screen in the original language and immediately translates it after which you hear the translation. There is a small time lag, so expect to speak a bit slower than normal. The translation was excellent both ways which was easy for me to verify and I think this will be a wonderful tool for future travels. If the idea of sharing an earbud is off-putting, you can either clean it with a sanitizing wipe between use or you can have the other person just hold it and that person can read the translation on your iPhone. Personally I don’t have a problem with this because the right earbud is designated to be the one I will always be using so the left one is for whomever I talk to. Now for additional features: Simultaneous translation: I tried this with a YouTube video and as long as the speaker doesn’t talk too fast it works quite well. In this case I found it easier to just read the translated text. Solk Chat translation: You can chat with other registered users. I did not test this. Voice and video calls. I have not tested this Photo translation: This works well: Basically the phone scans the image and then translates any text. Text translation: you can write a sentence and it will be translated. This works really well and I think it could be useful if you are in a noisy environment where the earbuds may pick up too much other conversation. AI meeting Assistant: I tried this with the same youtube video as for simultaneous translation. Basically it records the conversation and transcribes it but I don’t see a way to translate it. Sleep Aid: nature and Meditation. Nature sounds of various lengths. Plus: As an additional bonus I discovered that the earbuds also works as regular buds so that I can hear podcasts and music from my phone ! Overall I am beyond pleased with this and cannot wait to try it out on my next vacation !
