Features & Capabilities

CineTools is the battery and data calculator app for video professionals.

"How long will these batteries last on a FX6 with Cine 7 monitor?"

"How much drive space will I need for this Alexa Mini interview shoot?"

"How much will adding a Tilta follow focus effect my battery runtime?”

If you've ever asked these questions on set, when prepping for a shoot or even discussing kit purchases, then this is the app for you. CineTools was developed by video pros to be the go to battery and data calculator for the video production community.

With constantly updating battery and codec information on all major camera brands/ models Including;

Arri, RED, Sony, Canon, Blackmagic, Nikon, Kinefinity, Fujifilm, Gopro, DJI…. And if your go to camera/ accessory isn’t on there, just drop us a message and we will make sure to add it to the database on the next update (happening at least monthly).

  • Estimate how long your batteries will last, or how many you'll need for a shoot, whilst also factoring in accessories like your monitor, wireless transmitter and audio.
  • Determine how much storage space you'll need for a given recording time, including with multicam calculations for interview/ live event setups.
  • Calculate end of shoot data transfer times between devices. Including HDDs, SSDs and camera specific memory cards. Also factor in the speeds of different connections, including USB and Thunderbolt.

"Finally, a dedicated film battery calculator app! It’s easy to use and packed with genuinely handy tools for every filmmaker." -Andi Thompson, DOP

"CineTools takes over the headache of trying to calculate data storage and battery runtime. It is particularly useful on temporary set ups where we do not know the equipment combinations that well, such as hired in kit. Basically, it saves a lot of time."

  • Jack Daly, Filmmaker + Director
