Review summary

Most reviews indicate the app cannot read menus across various inputs, with errors that prevent analysis. Pricing/promo practices are repeatedly criticized as misleading or unethical, including subscription charges and unfulfilled 'free lifetime' promises. Users also report a long onboarding process, perceived app bloat, and some UI issues on iPad. A minority view the concept as promising, but overall execution erodes trust.
Pros
  • Cool idea with an AI-based menu reader concept.
  • A few features like news/updates syndication are noted as useful.
Cons
  • Cannot read or analyze menus across multiple inputs; persistent errors like 'Couldn't read the menu' when attempting to analyze photos, PDFs, or online menus.
  • Pricing and promotions are misleading or not honored, including attempts to charge for a subscription and false 'free lifetime' offers.
  • Onboarding is lengthy and the app feels bloated, with UI issues (e.g., photo option cut off on iPad) and privacy concerns.

2025-04-15 Fo***** I tried over 5 different menus from photos to online pdf menus, none worked, the app doesn't work at all except the survey at the beginning.

2025-04-14 Et***** Cool idea. But I pulled down several clear mania from Google Maps as well as a couple “wallpaper” sized menus off random web searches. Not a single one worked with this app, they all get the error: “Couldn't read the menu We couldn't analyze the menu. Please try again or upload a clearer photo” If a clear large scan of a menu PDF fails with this, I have no confidence this app will work randomly scanning menus from my phone in a dimly lit restaurant. But I like the idea and have it an extra star for that, hopefully developer addresses whatever is preventing it from working at all.

2025-04-14 Wi***** however there isn’t an option for that. If this is an unintentional mistake then you are forgiven but if it is a ploy to boost downloads then it’s deplorable. Another issue is the app wasn’t tested on a normal sized iPad. The option to choose from a photo is mostly cut off. Richard Sent from my iPad 9

2025-04-13 An***** This was to be free lifetime for a short period of time but after following the instructions of course it was a scam because there was NO free lifetime offering at all!

2025-04-13 So***** Download this promising app cause of the promo. Went through the onboarding got to the subscription page but can’t scroll down to take the promo. Only weekly or one other payment available. Therefore, I can only give one star. Will wait for update of sorts. If not, will delete.

2025-04-13 Cr***** Took several reinstalling to get lifetime to show up but then faced with a 20 minute onboarding answering clicking I actually understood why the app was so large and bloated (I honestly just thought you forgot to optimize your app) but nope it’s the long onboarding part affirmation building part overreach in privacy. Is a great idea but might I suggest you practice what you preach and reduce the unnecessary over bloated not necessarily more than advertising and slim the app down. On older phones actually even newer iPhone SE 3 64GB isn’t a lot when every app is like yours in 2025 larger bigger yet easily could be cut in half with good coding and only focusing on iOS 17+ Just my 2 cents
