Whether you want to reduce the carbon footprint of your weekly shop, eat more seasonally, or simply make a few better choices for the planet, EcoTweaks suggests small, realistic swaps that fit into the way you already shop.

How does EcoTweaks work? Got a weekly shopping list, or a few items you’re planning to buy? EcoTweaks helps you make that list a little greener.

1. Add the food you already plan to buy to your shopping list.
2. Get personalised EcoTweaks: similar alternative food suggestions that have a smaller carbon footprint.
3. Accept the swaps that interest you. You stay in control of what you buy, keeping sustainable living realistic and manageable.
4. See useful information about where to buy your new choice and how to cook it, making greener shopping easier in real life.
5. When you buy the swap on your next shop, bank your carbon savings! Watch these savings grow as small choices add up.

Your shopping list is reusable every week! Keep the swaps you love, reset everything and start fresh, or undo individual EcoTweaks whenever you want. You have full flexibility to make your food shop work for you and for the planet.

Can I use EcoTweaks to eat more seasonally? Yes! EcoTweaks also suggests seasonal swaps when a food is currently out of season, helping you to eat fresher, tastier and often cheaper food while making a more sustainable choice. Instead of having to research what's in season yourself, you can use EcoTweaks to discover in-season alternatives to your favourites and make the greener choice without the extra effort.

Do small changes really add up? Every EcoTweak you accept is an opportunity to reduce the carbon footprint of your food shop, and these small changes really do add up. As you bank your savings, you can see how your individual choices add up over time: reach milestones, earn trophies along the way, and see how your food choices could offset the carbon emissions of miles of driving, or even a flight or two!

Can I use EcoTweaks anywhere? If you're an EcoTweaks Supporter, you can use the barcode scanner to get sustainable food shopping support while you're in the supermarket, right when you need it most! Scan an item, discover greener alternatives in real time, and decide whether you'd like to make a swap. If you’ve got more time and you don’t have a subscription, you can add items manually; we think sustainable shopping should be accessible to everyone.
