User Reviews

Critics praise Lore's immersive, AI‑driven storytelling and strong writing, with replayable branching outcomes and no ads. Main drawbacks are limited customization, slow chapter releases, mixed pricing, and some technical issues (bugs, progress syncing across devices).
Pros
  • Immersive, well‑written stories with AI‑driven interactive chats that affect outcomes.
  • Engaging chat-based interactions where you type responses to influence the narrative.
  • High‑quality writing and storytelling, often ranked among the best interactive story apps.
  • No ads and a subscription model offering unlimited access (valued as good value by many).
  • Strong replayability with branching endings that yield different outcomes.
Cons
  • Lack of character customization for appearance and MC personalization.
  • Slow release cadence; chapters come out every few weeks rather than quickly.
  • Pricing/value concerns; some feel the monthly price is high for the content provided.
  • Bugs and occasional freezes in dialogue/UI, plus occasional progress issues.
  • Progress not syncing across devices, risking lost chats or data when switching devices.

Couldn’t get past the “art” style which is just static AI images. Uncanny valley and lifeless.

I love the concept but I think the execution could be better. I don't think you should be forced into being a female as the default, and gender locked as female for every story. I want an app with diversity and inclusivity. It’s part of why I love the Choices app so much. You get to choose and they aren't all just catered to 1 gender.

The app works fine and if you’re willing to pay a sub fee for it then their “not paying for options” rings true, but overall it’s just like every other app like this. There aren’t many stories on this to begin with and the majority of them aren’t finished with the wait time between chapter releases being 2 weeks. This is how they get people to pay for the subscription. You’re still locked into the direction they want the story to go and your choices have little consequence. The clothing choices have no bearing on how anything progresses. The messaging often times doesn’t align with what’s going on in the story and nothing you do between chat, messaging and the main actions affect one another. I liked it at first but given the capabilities of AI now this whole platform is very limited.
