Making Place

An exciting interactive experience has landed in Chinchilla! Explore the region through the eyes of 5 local artists. Step inside their minds and see how inspiration transforms into art.    When you ask locals and visitors what makes the Western Downs region so special, the answer is usually the same: It's the people that make it.    Making Place presents some of the makers and storytellers embracing modern life in a rural context and nourishing and preserving cultural landscapes for future generations.   Western Downs Regional Council acknowledges the traditional owners, the Barunggam, Iman (Yiman), Bigambul, Wakka Wakka, and the Jarowair people, as the custodians of this land. We pay respect to all Aboriginal community Elders, past and present, and their continuing connection to land and as custodians of stories for millennia.
