Mitra Foundation

Mitra Foundation was founded in 2013 in loving memory of Shakti Rath, a beloved friend who tragically passed away due to cancer. The foundation’s inaugural initiative, the "Jeevan Shakti Fund", was established to provide long-term support to families of terminally ill patients, helping them navigate through one of the most difficult times in their lives. The Jeevan Shakti Fund aims to foster self-reliance among these families by providing vital resources in key areas:

• Education Support: Ensuring the children of terminally ill patients have access to quality education, helping them secure a brighter future despite their current hardships.
• Vocational Training for Caregivers: Offering training and skill-building opportunities for family caregivers to help them generate a stable income and gain a sense of independence.
• Emotional Counseliing: Providing counselling and emotional support to the family members, particularly the caregivers, to help them cope with stress and loss while caring for their loved ones. Through these initiatives, the Mitra Foundation aspires to create a sustainable impact, empowering families to overcome the challenges posed by terminal illness and lead more fulfilling, self-reliant lives.
