FiloMail - AI Email & Todo

As a founder, AI researcher, and instructor, I seek new ways to boost productivity and find tools I can introduce to my students and my practice. This app shows promise; it might even outperform some other applications and platforms I use, except for one major issue. Several parts of the description claim connectivity to any inbox. For example (direct quote as of 16-May 20:13) - “Works with Gmail, Microsoft accounts, and all standard IMAP providers. Connect any inbox, manage everything from one place.” That is not correct. It works only with Gmail, and the in-app AI confirmed this, as did their site listing “Outlook” as beta. Yes, most accounts can be checked via Gmail, but that’s not always feasible, and it’s also not what their marketing repeatedly claims. To me, honesty matters. A lie by omission or misdirection remains a lie. If I can’t trust them to provide honest specifics about the service they offer, how can I trust them with email security and good hygiene? I genuinely want this platform to succeed because there’s real potential here. But potential without transparency is a hard sell, especially when you’re asking users to trust you with their communications.
