Features & Capabilities

Type in reactants and products, tap Balance equation, and get the smallest whole-number coefficients — even for long equations with nested brackets. Offline and ad-free.

Stoichiometric Equation balances chemical reaction equations for you — no trial and error, no guessing. Enter the reactants and the products, tap Balance equation, and the app returns the stoichiometric coefficients as the smallest set of whole numbers.

Balancing an equation means making sure that the same number of atoms of every element appears on both sides. For a reaction such as 2Na + Cl₂ = 2NaCl you can still do that in your head.

For e.g 3As₂S₃ + 28HNO₃ + 4H₂O = 6H₃AsO₄ + 9H₂SO₄ + 28NO, trial and error quickly stops being practical. That is exactly where this app takes over.

HOW IT WORKS Instead of guessing, the app treats the equation the way a mathematician would: every unknown coefficient becomes a variable, the atom counts for each element become one linear equation, and the resulting system is solved with Gaussian elimination. The coefficient matrix is transformed into reduced row echelon form and the solution is scaled to the smallest whole-number coefficients. The complete derivation is included in the app, step by step, with a fully worked example — so you can not only get the answer, but also understand how it is found.

FEATURES • Balances simple reactions and long, complex equations alike • Nested grouping with parentheses ( ), square brackets [ ] and braces { } • More than 90 chemical elements, written with the international IUPAC symbols • Results in the smallest whole-number coefficients • Clear, formatted output: proper subscripts, highlighted coefficients, monospaced layout • Long results are wrapped automatically to fit your screen • Precise error messages — unbalanced brackets, unknown element symbol, non-balanceable equation and more, each named instead of a vague "invalid input" • A collection of ready-made example equations: tap one and it is solved instantly • Built-in theory section explaining the mathematics behind the solver • German and English interface, chosen automatically from your device language • Optimised for iPhone and iPad, in portrait and landscape

BUILT-IN EXAMPLES The app ships with examples ranging from textbook reactions to equations that would take a very long time by hand,
