Users praise Ola Radio for plan-based channel management (up to 999 channels) and cross-device syncing, and occasional quick setup. However, onboarding and login failures, unreliable radio connectivity, and limited frequency support seriously hamper reliability. When it works, it can read and program radios and save plans, but ongoing compatibility and frequency limitations remain a frequent source of frustration.

Pros

Ability to save channel memories as a plan and manage up to 999 channels within the app, including naming each channel.
Plans can be synced across devices, reducing re-entry and enabling cross-radio continuity.
Reads from the radio and can program multiple radios after setup.
Easy to use and can connect quickly when it works.

Cons

Registration/verification emails or codes frequently aren’t delivered, blocking account creation.
Unreliable radio connectivity and inconsistent device compatibility—the app won’t connect to or read from many radios and some models aren’t recognized.
Frequency support is limited (airband and some HF bands aren’t available) and added frequencies can be deleted.

Easily connect and bind all my radios. So cool I can let everybody use the radio and I use this app as my radio and talk to everyone. Not sure why the negative reviews but this app is so useful and easy to use.🤷‍♂️

Works fine with my UV-5R mini but on my UV-5R I have a frequency programmed into channel “0” and when it reads the channels from the radio the app starts reading at channel “1” so all of the frequencies are off by one channel and there is nothing I can do about it. It’s usable but not good.
