I’ve used David Allen’s GTD system for 20 years, and I’ve always looked for an app that would allow me to implement GTD in its purest form. Meaning, without having to disable Pomodoro timers, time blocking, etc. Things 3 has served me well but it’s getting very dated and doesn’t handle complex projects. I tried OmniFocus Pro for a year until they ruined the interface trying to adopt Liquid Glass (still not fixed), after which I returned to Things.
This app is really close. It uses most of the useful power features of OmniFocus, with a home page similar to Things 3. However, it is closer in complexity to OnniFocus as well. There is more friction entering tasks and moving around the interface than Things, but then Cultured Code has had a Very Long Time(tm) to perfect it too.
One feature I’d like improvement on is an easier to read “Today” view. Locus uses a view similar to OmniFocus, but oddly harder to read and figure out what’s coming up. For example, calendar events take up 3 lines but they are sorted at the top like Things. This eats up a lot of real estate. Perhaps if there was an option to either shrink them to 1 line like Things or sort them into your task list like a planner (à la OmniFocus) it would be better.
Also, it seems like the calendar view automatically sorts tasks with deadlines above planned tasks, even if the deadline is late in the day. There is no option to override this behavior. Actually, I’d like more customization in the calendar view overall.
Except for these nit picky items, the developer has done a great job combining features of the only 2 real GTD apps available.

Before I can even try it the app spams me with a screen to pick a plan. Like i cannot even navigate the app to make a better informed decision?

I have started enjoying using this app. It's at an initial stage, but I think it has the right ingredients. Looking forward to seeing what the developers are cooking next!
