I tried to download the proper Tapo app and unfortunately this is the first one to pop up. Before I could even see if it would work for my camera (it wouldn’t) I had to pay a fee to even access the app. This should have been the first red flag that this was a scam. I later found out the fee wasn’t even refundable through the App Store! I reached out to the app support and they won’t even refund me suggesting I go through Apple—who already determined that the fraudulent charges are valid. Unless you have direct access to your modem (I do not in a shared space) and tech know-how, this is not the app for you. You can’t even test the accessibility of your camera before being forced to pay fees. What a joke. It’s not even an official app. For the record, my email chains went on for about a month and support takes 3-4 business days to respond even once.
