User Reviews

User feedback portrays JuNote as a mixed bag: it promises a portable, offline Jupyter experience on iPad with mobile-friendly editing and execution, but faces serious issues in practice. Colab and Google Drive integration repeatedly fail, blocking notebook use and imports. The app is frequently laggy, unreliable, and hard to use, with problems like input handling and indentation quirks. Import/export and sharing of notebooks (.ipynb) are poorly supported. Overall, it shows potential, but stability and compatibility gaps hinder usability for most workflows today.
Pros
  • Standalone offline Jupyter environment on iPad (no cloud dependency).
  • Mobile-optimized notebook experience with editing, code execution, and data visualization.
  • Clean, promising UI and overall look that suggests potential for a lightweight notebook tool.
Cons
  • Colab integration and Google Drive authentication issues prevent running Colab notebooks and mounting Drive.
  • Significant unreliability: lag on startup and inconsistent code execution.
  • Difficulty importing, sharing, or opening existing .ipynb notebooks; poor integration with Colab/Drive.
  • Limited interactivity support (e.g., input()) and other interactive features are not reliably working.

On first open it was laggy. Certain sections were not live and didn't function. Opened a notebook and couldn't get anything to run. Import, print, nothing. So... my take is this is trash and a waste of time. Really would love if someone could show me one that works.

Just don’t even bother, use your browser. Every damn aspect is so poorly implemented it feels like rage bait, these people expect money for duct taped together dumpster fire.

This is seems to be a great standalone Jupyter python environment. It doesn’t require a remote connection to the cloud, so you can work offline on your ipad. Great for plan rides or when you are away and want to work on a small project.
