LWL That’s colonial.

The app offers visitors to the exhibition ‘That's colonial. Westphalia's (in)visible heritage’ at the LWL-Museum Zeche Zollern in Dortmund all exhibition texts in English.

The exhibition (13.6.2024 - 26.10.2025) is dedicated to the history, traces and consequences of colonialism up to the present day. Over 250 exhibits, an interactive map of places of remembrance, 30 audio stations, artistic interventions and an extensive range of guided tours invite visitors to explore Westphalia's colonial heritage over an area of 600 square metres. The exhibition deals with aspects from four subject areas: economic interdependencies, people from Westphalia who were active in the colonies, colonialism in everyday life as well as resistance, colonial wars and the culture of remembrance. A triad of historical references, artistic interventions and interviews opens up different perspectives.
