User Reviews

Users broadly praise DeepSeek for being free, versatile, and supportive across many topics, with strong planning and creative-use benefits. The main drawbacks are repeated limits on chat usage that disrupt sessions, perceived drops in quality after updates, and occasional inaccuracies on specific tasks. Some requests for enhanced memory across chats and easier export of conversations appear as feature desires. Overall, its accessibility and breadth keep most reviews positive, but addressing limits, consistency, and memory would improve user satisfaction.
Pros
  • Free or very affordable access with strong capabilities (noted as FREE in reviews).
  • Very helpful across a wide range of topics (parenting, legal issues, etc.) with nonjudgmental, supportive guidance.
  • Useful for planning and creative work (e.g., business planning, comic ideas) and generally reliable in conversations.
  • Accessible and easy to use, including for older users or those with limited AI experience.
  • Overall strong performance and positive sentiment in many reviews.
Cons
  • Frequent chat/message limits causing interruptions, abrupt endings, and loss of context; users request higher limits and warnings before limits are hit.
  • Perceived degradation in quality or slower response after updates (longer thinking times, less coherent or delayed answers).
  • Occasional reliability issues or inaccuracies on certain tasks (e.g., some tasks not solved correctly; inconsistent behavior on some prompts).
Recent reviews
Often stops conversation if messages are "too frequent", and the server randomly goes down. It's smarter than most AI's but its consistent unavailability makes it unreliable to work with. On expert mode you can't send files which I think defeats the purpose of being higher quality. It might as well be a glorified search engine. It's cool that it's free but for better quality I would be ready and willing to pay. Where it's at now is not enough for me. “Free” only carries you so far when the product keeps failing the moment people try to use it seriously. It has the intelligence but the infrastructure sabotages it. Intelligence wise it's ahead of pretty much all AI's but it can hardly be classified as a competitor when it can't even finish a conversation. It doesn't have memory, or speech or a stable server. One star until it improves. Again, I am ready and willing to pay for a better experience. Until then I can hardly use this app.
