This is a mobile app, and the only way to successfully register is with a QR code they email to you. Obviously one cannot scan a QR code that is on the device being used, so you need a second device to complete this flow. Then you have to fill out a survey and provide all of your personal information, and only at that point do they tell you that you have to pay $80 in order to actually do anything useful in the app. Come to think of it, I’m not even sure you’re allowed to charge that way, that may be in violation of the App Store TOS. I don’t understand why companies can’t be transparent in their pricing.
